Merienda at Itoy's Coffee

The famous Itoy's coffee is like their local Starbucks here in Puerto Princesa. This actually part of our itinerary and im dying to try their best selling frappes. Lets go inside!

Love the design of the interior. Although its kinda dark, the paintings, figurines, and other interesting pieces greeted us. They are awesome. Just love the homey feel of the place.

Their logo is quite scary. I dunno who designed this one but i think its way better if they take away the photo of i guess the owner on the logo. Its cleaner and less scary.

We tried their home made pizza. We usually make this way back home where we only use del monte pizza sauce with a little ground beef, placed it on huge pandesals like the ones in Pan de Manila and then smotthered with quick melt... Simply delicious..

I never had sizzling spaghetti before and i had first at Itoy's! This fiilipino style spaghetti is really tasty and very delicious. This is a must try at Itoy's.

Served along with Garlic bread slices. These compliments the taste of the pasta. Perfect combination...

As for dessert, we had choco frappes topped graciously with wipped cream and chocolate syrup plus cherries on top. Its really good... sarap.

We are so full and not to mention, this is only meryenda. after an hour or so, we already have reservations to the next famous restaurant in Puerto Princesa - "Kalui".

Handicrafts with a View

We are on our way back and we passed by a handicraft store with a lovely view of Honda Bay on the side. Then we looked at these beautiful handicrafts. Abby is looking at this coral wind chimes...

Its beautiful actually but its kinda hard to transport. I just took photos of it and just bring the memories onto my blog...

This is our ride going back to the hotel. The ride was fast and really bumpy. I dunno if the suspension is not responsive anymore., or., its just bumpy and our driver doesnt give a rats shit with the condition of the road coz hes travelling real fast even if the road is rough..

These happy wood carvings catched my eye and the intricate design is really nice. All of these are hand crafted so its really special.

Saw abby striking a pose on one of the ornaments.. :)

Sabang Beach

After all that walking and sickening boat ride, we are dead hungry. Eating a horse is not enough., a blue whale would be enough. When we saw the buffet table, my feet is like, it has a mind of its own.. magnetized by the food and my hands are somehow possessed getting the spoons and plates...

They served this really delicious liempo. Grabbed a handful of that. Its perfect with hot rice and some ice cold Coke!

I was so full after that i need to move along the beach side with my camera. Saw this father and daughter working together in making their very own sand castle... Lovely sight...

These Nipa Huts are really a relaxing and its perfect having a comfortable lunch just beside the beach. The smell of fresh air and grilled barbecue made me hungry for more... but i got to stop...

I thin theres something wrong with this sign over here...

Look at that beach! its so wide! I think this is a great place for Ultimate Frisbee! I just like it when the coconut trees are far away from the shore... specially when the beach is white.

It gives you a lot of room to do a lot of beach stuff like.. ultimate frisbee and beach volleyball. Also, it helps the beach become clean since coconuts and its leaves are not scattered around the area...

This is a photo of Abby passing by the bridge. We are on our way to the parking lot going back to our hotel..

This is our small group and some of our fellow travellers are about to go home and catch a flight. But before that, everybody strike a pose and get ready for the camera...

Goodbye beach. hope to see you again...real soon

A Glimpse of Sheridan Beach Resort

Sabang Beach. We are on our way back to our van and we passed by this next level and prestigious resort in the area - The Sheriden Beach Resort. I was amped when I saw the gorgeous infinity pool with this nicely placed seats on the side of the pool. I kept moving forward and kept on shooting - then suddenly, the guard came close and pursuaded me to stop taking photos...

I just said., what? even here photography is illegal... I really dont know why they are stopping me coz actually im giving them a free promotion for their beach resort. I stopped and just walked away.

I was actually done taking photos anyway. I just took 5 shots of the place and i guess thats enough...

By its looks., its definitely one of those high end, 5 star kind of a beach resort that i think quite expensive to book....

Again, mesmerized by the beautiful design of the pool. Just by looking at it is already relaxing. What more if you are lying there, sun-bathing with a freshly squeezed orange juice garnished with a lemon slice and a teeny tiny umbrella on the side...... ahhh.

Monkey Trail w/o Monkeys

After our Subterranean River adventure which is really fun by the way, we went to this place called Monkey Trail. They say that they usually spot huge monitor lizards roaming around the area. But when we arrived there, not a single lizard is on sight. Even monkeys are not in sight so it was kinda frustrating...

Fierce plans such as this one would definitely make your day really gone bad when you step one of these so you really have to be careful and have an open eye while walking down the path..

The trail is a mix of sand, dead leaves and soil. Abby's feet is injured from our Unilab Run. Her feet wer stressed and left her foot ailing in pain. The bandage helps as it cushions the swollen part that lessens the pain...

Guests walking at the path going to the Monkey Trail. ..

Our fellow adventurers striking a pose at the signage of the Monkey Trail..

Sabang Port and Beyond

Sabang Port is like the parking lot the motorized boats going to the Subterranean River. These boats are really colorful and they are really fast . Even if the seas are very rough and unforgiving, these boats just glide all the way...

This photo shows how rough the seas back then. Huge waves just kept on coming due to continuous rain and wind. My life vest is tightly tucked onto my chest but the worries are still there since my camera is not water protected. I did not used my dry bag.Instead i just brought along my Lowepro sling bag... Deep inside im scared for my gear but not for my own good....kinda weird huh.

Huge waves smashed our boats but still managed to push through. Love this shot of one of the boats...

This guy is busy preparing his boat for another jouney. I noticed that the boats are similar in color. They only distinguish from the markings but generally their colors are quite the same.

Rough seas is no match with the fierce look of our boats captain. I guess to him, these waves are nothing. With his full confidence painted on his face, im sure our trip will be just fine...

A photo of the Sabang Port where guests write their names on the log book for registration. Good move that we are early since people are starting to fill the place up....

Aica is still a little sleepy. The hotel's cold air conditioning is really relaxing on which and gave us a very relaxing sleep... you can actually see it on aica's face who i guess is still a little sleepy...

Jay, Xandi and Aica waiting for our boat to arrive...

We departed at the pier with slight rain showers. Typhoon Mina just passed by and strong winds are still trailing her. Leaving timely gust of winds and unstable ocean behavior. I had an assignment before on minimalism and played with it on this photo.

A lot of strong hands are needed to hold on to the boat while the guests are climbing aboard. Saw this two guys having a firm grip onto our boat. Love this shot..

Sabang Port is really clean, very organized, and its packed with Coast Guard with Glocks and M16's are tucked safely on their holsters. Palawan is one of many places here in our country that has a lot of tourists, mostly foreigners and they should be well protected and ensuring them with much needed peace of mind. ..

Kinabuchs Grill and Bar

After a very tiring day at the beach. We went back to the hotel and have a well deserved rest. I was so tired due to rough weather. Good thing that we arrived safe. I was worried for our safety and also for our gears. As we arrived the hotel i rushed to the bathroom and gave myself a really good shower. Then chilled for a while inside the very cold hotel room. Later we are goin to this famous place in Puerto Princesa called "Kinabuchs".

Kinabuch got their name from their owner named Butch. Its like an answer to a question : "San tayo kain? " eh di "Kina Butch.. - Kinabuch" Well its just a theory.. :) So were here and the place is really really nice. Open air, Lovely Nipa huts and the smell of the food is really appetizing!

From the bottom left, thats Aica, our travel factor coordinator, next to her is Xandi, a Dubai based graphic designer who is addicted to travelling as well and the guy with the yellow shirt is Jay who is pretty much addicted to traveling as well who i think has been to a lot of travel factor tours. And the the ones standing is of crs me and abby.

Warm lights illuminated the area with its lovely light shades hanging at the center of the huts. Very classic, the shades of yellow makes it really nice and gives you a very chillax mode of eating. I guess this is what Kinabuch's famous for. Its chill, and relaxing place that is perfect for people who are stressed out and just looking for some great food and a little booze to sooth em.. hehe like us! hehe

Now this is a local delicacy called "Tamilok". Its some kind of wood worm and a must to have if your going to visit Puerto Prinsesa. They say you cant leave town without tasting it! So i did.. and it tastes good. Although its kinda slimey but its really good. Tastes like Jelly Ace. :)

Kinabuchs is a great place. The Crispy Pata was amazing!

Snake Island, Palawan

Welcome to Snake Island! Like any other islands in Palawan, the beach is really nice. Its clean, its wide and its long! People of all sorts are also gathered here to celebrate their vacation. Its a nice and lovely scene here in Snake Island even though the weather is quite gloomy.

The abundance of life from these mangroves are awesome. Just love the fresh bloomed plants that slowly emerges from the beach. I love its virgin green colors.

I do apologize coz i forgot the name of our very nice and very knowledgeable tour guide. I will just call her ate. She's Xandi's Fisheye camera. Saw this one from afar and luckily i have my 70-300 attached and captured this photo.. :)

Naks naman si Manong Lifeguard! Swimming at the beach is really safe since a lot of lifeguards are patrolling the area. To be honest, i wanted to borrow that orange life buoy and pose ala David Hasselhoff! Kiddin!

Good thing when a long lens is attached to your camera is that you can capture lots of candid moments such as this . Saw tina and carlo goofin around the beach side :)

Snake Island's beach is really beautiful. Its really clean and not that crowded. Perfect place to bring your family and have some fun in the sand.

Abby is having fun shooting as well with her really nice Billabong Underwater Film Camera. :)

Jellyfishes are very common around the area. Local's says that these types of Jellyfishes are not that poisonous or itchy but hell i aint gonna touch one of those gelly, mushy creatures... i have jellyphobia..

Snorkling is really fun specially when you have a piece of bread with you since a lot of colorful fishes will swarm you and beg you to feed them. Having yourself surrounded with the cast of Finding Nemo is really amazing! An experience id never forget..

From afar, i thought I saw coach Rio! With his afro style hair...he will definitely pass as Coach Rio look alike :)

Saw this couple walking down the beach and suddenly their "kilig" factor just got into me. As always., the beach is a perfect place to stroll around... sweet moments with the tune of the waves splashing in the background...

The experience at Snake island is really awesome.. Good times...
