Lunch at Abby's

Abby invited me to have lunch at their place and its insane if you'd resist. Abs is one great cook and she loves to experiment on a lot of dishes and it really works! Shes making something out of this tofu and i bet its gonna be real good... :)

Abby and Van both have distinguished talents in the kitchen. Like mother like daughter(s). Tita Nellie cooks really well and for sure the two ladies over here got their kitchen wonders from their mother. :)

Pusit! Fresh from cebu. This is actually one of my favorites. Best when crunchy. Dip it on vinegar and for sure youl see sparks all over. Its so good. This is perfect with rice. :)

This is Abby's dish. Tofu with Pechay. Its really tasty. Not to mention its very healthy because of the different kinds of vegetables in it. I forgot to take a photo of the rice which is really good as well. It has this added spice which made it really tasty. I love it. :)

This is Kulet, the Olarte's dog of the house. He just slumbers around all day and this guy snores when he sleeps! I never saw a dog who snores before.. Kulet is the first! hehe

Palawan's Butterfly Garden

After our stay at Mitra's Ranch., we went to the Butterfly Garden to have a glimpse of the butterflies. I tell you once inside., theres a lot! The last time i was inside a butterfly garden was in Hong Kong and that was no match to this one.

Butterflies in all sorts of colors fly around. Theres even one who laid rest on my shoulders. Butterflies are one of those creatures that moves with such grace and seeing them in numbers is quite a satisfaction.

Im surprised when i use my telephoto's performance coz it gave me this really creamy bokeh... Look at this good lookin guy over here.. havin himself his own tan.. Love this photo..

They say., butterflies dont live that long thats why they make the most of it. We might wanna leave em alone.... their both busy..

The place not only caters to different kinds of butterflies but also to different kinds of creepy crawlies such as bugs, centipedes and scorpions!

Damn i faced my fear of letting the scorpion crawl onto my hands then to my arm...damnit its like theres a huge cockroach trinkling and walking around your arm! Its an unforgettable feeling and damnit i aint gonna do it again!

One Fine Sunday with the Olartes

Its Beb Abby's Birthday celebration with her family and we had lunch at Zongs over at Centris. Its really nice having them all together. We ordered our favorites like the shrimp with soft tofu., braised beef, hakaw and more.. I just love dining at Zong's. Their food is great, healthy coz their food is MSG free and the price is reasonable as well.

Family picture of the Olarte Family. Like I said, its really nice having them all together coz it happens once in a while. :)

these mushroom-like structures at Centris never fail to amaze me. I just love the architectural design of this place

After lunch, we went to the Sunday Market.

Took a photo of abs... i just love her smiling and giggling.. =)

Abby and her sister Van, searching for the finest herbs. Good cooking runs along the family and they are meticulous with the ingredients that they use.

Saw this dog along the way and i so want him... this is a cross-breed between a Chow-Chow and a Siberian Husky. His coat is so thick and his body is not that chubby like the usual chow-chows. If only i had 9k that time., i could have brought him home....

I really had a great time.. spending lunch with Tito Ben, Tita Nellie, Van, Neil and of crs Abs. Its really nice having quality time with them. Good times. :)

My New Lens!

The newest addition in my camera gear. I always wanted a Nikkor 50mm f/1.4. I think this lens is like 20 years old and still works ell. Its kinda hard to turn i guess due to age. Autofocus doesnt work if I attach this lens to my camera. I just have to go Manual.

The quality of the images from this lens is sharp! I love the bokeh effect. This lens is a great addition for my gear. Perfect for portraits and product shots. I just have to use it more often to loosen it up.

Look at the bokeh on those wild flowers. Its just amazing. I love this new lens!

A Visit to Zoobic

Its been a while since i went to the zoo and i was fortunate enough to be invited by Abby and her friends to go with them at Subic. At first i was very doubtful of the weather because the forecast says its gonna rain all through out the afternoon. It rained yes but heavens enlightened us a window of sunshine to make our zoo adventure trip worthwhile. We went to Zoobic Safari at Subic Bay.

Subic Safari is home to a lot of Tigers. Its actually the biggest Tiger Safari here in the Philippines. Its my first time to see a white tiger. I only see them in National Geographic and probably Simba the white lion. In this picture, the ranger is feeding the tiger with dressed chicken. Letting the visitors see the huge tiger devour that meat. According to the tour guide, Tigers here eat 7-15 lbs of meat everyday. No wonder why these cats are huge!

Owls really fascinates me. Its eyes are so eerie that sometimes by looking at them really fascinates me. This is probably my first photo of an owl up close. There are wide species of birds out there. From small colorful love birds, to noisy parrots and huge funny looking ostrich.

I happen to notice that there are a lot of doves and pigeons at the safari as well. I caught this bird in flight. Love this picture once i saw it on my view finder.

Now this shot is one of my favorites as well. I caught this ostrich looking straight at me. I dunno what is he curious about. Hes just there lookin at me. I grabbed my camera and took a photo of him. Funny looking dude.

So there you go. Those are my favorite shots from Zoobic Safari. If you want to view more pictures, please visit my multiply site at http://maaccc.multiply.com
