Tao Yuan by New Peach Blossoms

When you hear about Peach Blossoms, it’s one of those restaurants who is an icon in the food industry. It’s been there for so many years that every time I go to SM North EDSA, I see their restaurant still standing amidst the growing number of establishments growing around it. Talk about Trinoma Mall in front of you.

They opened another restaurant called Tao Yuan along congressional avenue. It's not your usual kind of chinese restaurant. Instead of color hues of red and gold, this restaurant is in shades of baby blue and pink! Yes you heard it right! It has this chaby chic feel that you will definitely love.

They also have this really delicious Malunggay Shake! When I saw this in their posters.. i was instantly intrigued how its like... That time i was really thirsty and I gave it a try!  And yes. It was really delicious! It has those Malunggay bits in it and it's made with cream.

You got to try their pancit! It's one of the best miki bihon pancit i ever had! It has this sweet smooth taste. It has this flavor that wants you to have more! You have to try it to appreciate it!

Their fried chicken is delicious as well! It's crunchy and very tasty. They have this sweet and sour sauce available for this one but i want it without any. I just love as it is. Try it guys.

Tao Yuan by New Peach Blossoms  is located at Chimes Square in Congressional Extension. It's a new place and very accessible. Great environment as well. It's not that congested and it has this village like feel..away from busy streets, high traffic and congested buildings. Feel free to visit their facebook page for more information.

Mixin' Bowl SM North

Do you love macarons? What are macarons by the way? According to Wikipedia : A macaron is a French sweet meringue-based confection made with egg white, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food colouring. I tasted one of these when i went on a photoshoot before... one thing i instantly noticed is that, its not cheap. But indeed very delicious!

For 40 pesos (or more)  a piece, this dessert should be really delicious and yes it is delicious indeed. I had one at Mixin Bowl over at Skydome at the rooftops of the newly renovated SM North EDSA. I arrived there early to plan out my shoot and good thing i did because i came out with pictures something like these.

I used a couple of color gels to create a certain mood that goes along with the color of the food. I used yellow, red even blue gels to make the background somehow dramatic. I love the result. :)

Besides the macarons, they also sell pastas, cakes  and other dishes. I really love their carbonara. It's so delicious. For sure if i drop by here next time, I'd order this once again no doubt.

I also love their blueberry cheesecake. I love the texture, the creaminess and the sweetness of the cake. It's really good. I just had this one after eating my delicious carbonara. Im sre you will love this one as well....

I also tried their delicious chocolate cake. This is a triple layered chocolate cake that is screaming with goodness! Its delicious! Best enjoyed with a hot cup of coffee or tea.

Visit their restaurant at SM North EDSA just beside Skydome. They also serve different kinds of breads and I even saw some waffledogs out there! Give them a try im sure you'll love it.

Barrio Fiesta

There's always one place I ever think off when it comes to a buffet of Filipino food...  Barrio Fiesta. When I was young, we used to eat out here specially when there are family gatherings, Barrio Fiesta is always the first thing we ever think off. I was delighted when I was assigned for a shoot at Barrio Fiesta over at Araneta Center in Cubao, because i had to re-live moments with family. I was also delighted because i have to taste their delicious kare-kare once again! This is one of my favorite dishes at Barrio Fiesta. I bet a lot of  you as well.

Another favorite of mine is their Lechon Manok! The skin is so crispy and the meat is so juicy. I love this so much that's its a standard procedure to order Fried Chicken everytime we go here.  .

This is my first time to try their delicious Seafood Paella! It's so good. That fresh crab on the top is the winner. I am a sucker for seafood and to have this kind of dish in front of me is one hell of a treat!

I really had fun shooting here. The staff is really nice. They accommodated me pretty well. Place is clean and the food is just delicious.

Brothers Burger

Im fortunate enough to have a photoshoot at one of the most delicious burger chains in Metro Manila - Brothers Burgers. I just can get enough of the taste of their delicious burgers. My favorite is their Big Brothers burger. That half pounder monster us simply to die for.

Meat is juicy... tasty.. that flame-grilled goodness gets into your nerves! I had a chance to shoot inside their kitchen... it's hot in there but its all good. I wanted to have the flames go out but it's hard to achieve that perfect flame. After numerous clicks, i just decided to go with this one....

I was tasked to shoot this delicious burger for Ensogo.com.ph and  I'm just glad I pulled this through. And I was so happy since a lot of people bought the deal..  :) I love my job.

Marina Seafood Restaurant

Marina Seafood Restaurant is famous for their delicious Sisig and Sinigang na hipon. They had a restaurant before at Greenhills and I tried their food and man it was heaven. Seriously its delicious. I had a little smirk on my face when I was asked to do this shoot. I had to make this dish really appetizing and boy it was a tough challenge because the lighting is all yellow and gloomy. Good thing I kinda pulled it through...

Their deal : Marlin Sisig + pakbet + Sinigang na hipon + unli  ice tea for 4  + unli rice all for the price of 499 pesos. That's great value for your money! Their sizzling marlin is really good. I had a chance to taste it and i loved it. Actually all of the dishes are good! I had a lot of those shrimps!

I almost forgot to tell you guys that i held the shoot at their branch over at Metrowalk in Ortigas.  Great place! It's spacious and cozy.  Come by and visit im sure you'l love it there.  Deal is already running at Ensogo.com.ph Go grab your vouchers!

Sodam Korean Restaurant

I missed blogging. I know im not a born writer and my grammar i guess won't pass on any copywiter's taste.. but what the hell. I really dont give a damn anyway... I just wanna share something really nice.. and delicious. I went to this Korean restaurant near Gilmore street called So Dam Korean Restaurant. Outside its quite small.. But once you go inside, its really spacious. I went on a shoot there for Ensogo and they prepared  this really delicious dishes...  I went on setting up my lights and started shooting. Photo on top is their delicious shabu-shabu! I just love the color on that photo.

I so love korean food. I find it really healthy. Because you cook it with its own oil. Part of the deal is the unlimited pork or beef samgyupsal. I had a lot of these! Its really good...

thats what Im talkin about... just grill it and eat it along with the vegies. Glazed it with  olive oil mixed with some seasoning and enjoy! Writing this makes me hungry...

They also have other korean favorites! I love their kimchi! They serve buffet at only 299 pesos for lunch and 399 pesos  for dinner. Come visit their humble place at P.Guevarra St. in Pasig! For more info visit their facebook page.

Salud Mexican Restaurant

Tacos, Nachos...Buffalo wings? If you love these beer-match superstars, you got to visit this new joint at Global City called Salud Mexican Restaurant. Their tacos are ridiculousey delicious! I love the taste of the salsa! It's really good...

Their nachos are so overwhelming. Usually when I eat nachos, the chips are less than the fillings. Here,  i'ts the other way around! Its really delicious! A must order!

I love the spice of their buffalo wings. Its not that hot.. but if you wanna get crazy, ask to level up the spice). I just love the taste of their wings. Its not that super spicy.. its just right!

They also serve cold margaritas and other cocktails!

What I really like with this place is the al fresco 2nd floor. For people who want to smoke, Im sure they will enjoy this area. Place is really nice and cozy. They play nice tunes as well thanks to their DJ. This is a nice place to hang out. Its not that crowded unlike other the other bars yet food here is really good and the music is fine... I think people in BGC is all about the hype of hanging out to other bars with such big names which is so tight and very crowded you can't almost breathe... Here in Salud, its more relaxing...more comfy..and i think you'd enjoy drinking here  with your friends in a much larger space.

Kebab Factory

Do you like Kebabs? If you'l ask me, im a huge fan of kebabs! Shawarmas...kebabs..i love them. It's one hell of a treat shooting at this restaurant because the food here is really delicious. Welcome to Kebab Factory! We had our shoot at the Jazz Mall in Makati. I had this really huge challenge becsuse, for some reason i left my camera at home ( yeah i know its so stupid of me). The only camera i got is my trusty ol Lumix LX5!!! So here's the gameplan, im going to shoot it under natural light! So i brought a huge white foam board and a tripod. Took photos of the food just beside the window light and reflected back by the foam board ti illuminate and reduce the shadows. I actually love the photos! It looks really natural.

Ok enough camera stuff. Food here is really delicious! I love their kebabs and the sauce that goes along with it is really delicious! The chilli sauce hits you right in the face! I love it! Photo above is their chicken tandoori biryani. Chicken is just perfect.  I highly recommend it. I also love the biryani... its really delicious.

The greek salad is delicious as well. The lettuce is really fresh and crunchy.  Love the cheese and the olives. Great salad!

If you wanna try out their shishas, They have a lot!

The place is really nice. Its clean, its very tidy. Light scatters all over the place. The colors of the chairs and tables work in harmony. Good job on the interior.

I want to thank Ms. Sam for this wonderful experience! Mam, your food is awesome! Love it! Also to Paul, my partner in crime everytime we have a gastronomic adventure.. thanks bro! And to the staff for being so helpful! Thanks guys!

If you want to have your kebab fix, try kebeb factory! You won't regret it!

Queens Taj Mahal

I'm a great fan of Indian food. The last time I had one when I went to Boracay and theres  an Indian Restaurant called True Food Indian Cuisine. As far as I can remember, thats the first time I tried Indian food and I really enjoyed it! Yesterday, I re-lived all those memories when a plateful of Naan pita bread was served in front of me! Welcome to Queens Taj Mahal in Jupiter Street in Makati! If you're into authentic Indian food, you will love this place! This dish is called Dhal Makhni with the delicious Garlic Naan on the background. Just rip a small part of the Naan and dunk it in! Its really good.

This is called the Masala Papadum. It's like a really huge nacho with tomatoes and other spices at the middle. :D It's crunchy and it tastes really good.  Just hold on to it gently  coz it crumbles into pieces if you don't.

This is their mixed vegetable curry. I love this. Im a fan of curry. I dunno i just love the taste of it.

their mutton biryani is really delicious. Partner it with the mixed vegetable curry and its goodness beyond expectation. Its really good. Kahit walang ulam, masarap! It's so good. This is a must order.

their chicken tanodoori is really delicious. I rarely eat chicken with an indian twist and this one is just enjoyment in every bite. It's really good.

this their version of the buttered chicken... too bad I havent seen the chicken in this pic because it still bathes in its really thick butter sauce! on the background is the butter naan which is its usual partner.

this is their mutton sheek kebab. best partnered with the buttered naan. Get a small piece of Naan and roll it in with a piece of the kebab and add some of its sauce. Its really good! im starting to get hungry writing this blog...

This is the interior of the Queens Taj Mahal. I took advantage of the flood of light coming inside. I played a little with the white balance and gave it a glamorous touch. This is just a portion of the big room but since there are still people eating, i gave my best not to include them inside the frame... Great interior. Great place.

I want to thank sir Vijay and his staff  for the food they have prepared for us. I really enjoyed my stay there. I'm sure I'l visit your restaurant real soon...

till the next food adventure!

Song Do Won Korean Restaurant

Over the weekend, I have this serious craving for korean food...Samgyupsal to be exact. I think the heavens above smiled upon me and  I received an email that I have a schedule for a photoshoot in one of the premiere korean  restaurants in Macapagal Avenue, the Song Do Won Korean Restaurant. It's my first time here! The place is nice and big. I think my cravings for Samgyupsal will soon be over.

I was preparing my lights and strobes for the shoot and i was kinda excited, thrilled, and hungry to see what am i about to photograph. The veggies rolled out, then the spices and the sauces are coming in. I am now elated to see the meat. Then there it is.. one of the staff is carrying a plateful  of lean, red and fresh thin slices of pork ready to be grilled! Eto na sya! I took some shots first for the set meals and then we started to fire up the grille!

and now we're cooking! That sound of that meat cooking off the grill is like a lullaby to my ears. Its kinda weird noh? I do think Im naturally weird.. Anyways,  They're not using any cooking oil.  It actually cooks in its own once you throw it down the heat.  The oil seeps out of the meat, and it goes thru the grooves of the pan and gently being drained. Somehow its kinda healthy. :)

They have this veggie called the chinese cabbage and this is my first to see this in a samgyupsal meal. I made my wraps with it and it tastes really good! I even ordered a bottle of Soju to make the experience more satisfying! Samgyupsal + Soju is actually the one two punch for me. It's really good!

I forgot to ask what kind of soup this is. When it arrived in the table its still boiling! I have to take a quick snap of it and I wanna photograph the thing  boiling. I think this is some kind of a Tofu soup... i saw big chunks of tofu in there. I tasted it and its so delicious. Tofu regularly helps lower bad cholesterol, alleviates symptoms associated with menopause and even lowers the risk of cancer.

Song Do Won Korean Restaurant will soon run a great deal at Ensogo. Please do watch out for it in our website real soon. There are meals for two and for four. Photo above is the meal for two and its all worth it. Im not yet informed about the price though. Please do watch out for it.

Song Do Won Korean Restaurant is located at HK Sun Plaza, Macapagal, San Jose, Pasay City. You can give them a call at (02) 8040757, (+63) 9178224554 for more info. Many thanks for the staff for all the help! Thank you! You guys are wonderful.

Another craving satisfied. More food shoots to come!
